Action Man

Action Man toys are a true retro classic. As popular today as they were when launched by Palitoy in the United Kingdom over forty years ago in 1966. The original Action Man figure was based on the American Hasbro G.I. Joe action figure, patented in 1966.

Back then there were just three Action Man figures: Action Soldier, Action Sailor and Action Pilot. They were available with a choice of four hair colours, wearing uniforms from the Second World War.

From around 1970 Action Man figures were produced using various themes including adventurers and sportsmen. It was during this time that some striking new innovations were introduced that distinguished the Action Man figures including hands that could grip and flocked hair.

Todays Action Man action figures maintain the quality of the highly collectible Vintage Action Man dolls from the sixties and seventies. But there are now a far greater selection of themed figures to choose from including astronauts, footballers, polar explorers and a really great range of military Action Man figures, destined to be tomorrow's collectibles.
