Bachmann Class 45 D27 BR Green Split Head Code

The Class 45 Diesels were built between 1960 and 1962, as a development from the Class 44 locomotives introduced in 1959. Put into service with multi-unit working and steam heating boilers for passenger service, units with steam heating boilers were designated Class 45/0 and those with electric train heating became Class 45/1. Withdrawn from service by 1988, 12 locos ahve survived to preservation.
