Bachmann Class 66 Diesel 66209 EWS Weathered
250 GM locomotives were ordered from America in 1996 to replace the English Welsh and Scottish Railway freight locomotive fleet. Based on the successful Class 59 but with an improved 3000hp power unit and top 75mph speed. Initially classed 61, they became a Class 66 with improved reliability and availability which lead to the withdrawal of BR designed Classes 31, 33, 37, 56, 73 and lastly 58. A low emission CLkass 66 was also required, this design post 2005 now supply all orders.
