Bachmann GWR 3000 Rod Great Western Green

The 3000 Class was made up of ex-Railway Operating Division 2-8-0 locomotives. Several ROD locos were loaned by the GWR during the First World War but later returned at its end. GWR purchased 20 RODs numbered 3000-19 and another 84 in 1919 numbered 3020-99 and 6000-3 but returned by 1922. Thirty of the best examples were overhauled and fitted with copper fireboxes, while the other fifty should be patched up and scrapped when major repairs became necessary. None of the RODs have survived to preservation.
