A dedicated search and rescue (SAR) version, the HAR3, was developed for the RAF Search and Rescue Force. The type entered service in 1978 to replace the Westland Whirlwind HAR.10. A 16th helicopter was ordered shortly after, and following the Falklands War of 1982, three more examples were purchased.

Airfix 1:72 Focke Wulf Fw190A-8 

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a German WWII single-engine fighter designed by Kurt Tank in the late 1930s.  Powered by a radial engine, the Fw190 had ample power, and by the time the A-8 version had been developed was still keeping up with the development of the Allied fighters, particularly at high altitudes.  It was liked by Luftwaffe pilots as much as the Messerschmitt Bf109.

By 1943 the RAF needed a dedicated ground attack fighter more than a 'pure' fighter, and the Typhoon was suited to the role.  The powerful engine allowed the aircraft to carry a load of up to two 1,000 lb (454 kg) bombs, From September 1943 Typhoons could also be armed with four '60 lb' RP-3 rockets under each wing.
