Ford Focus WRC, Monte Carlo Rally 2001

Driving the car modelled here, McRae and co-driver Grist started 2001 well, leading the Monte Carlo Rally until the Focus’s fly-by-wire throttle system failed on the last day rendering them no points. However, the season was action packed and McRae and Grist finished the season in a climatic 2nd place overall.

Colin McRae Motorsport Ltd and Corgi have teamed up to produce a collection of 1:43 scale die-cast replica models as a lasting memorial to Colin McRae MBE. The full collection of 14 models will be released between 2009 and the end of 2011.
