There were times when trains like the City Industrial hauled not only freight but individual coaches along the small branch lines that ran from the main lines to the small towns and villages of the British Isles. The oval of track with siding adds a degree of operational interest as wagons have to be shunted to an fro allowing them to be dropped off and picked up on the trains return journey.
Using the MidMat as a guide, the layout in this set can be quickly and easily extended with the addition of Hornby Track and Accessory packs, available separately.
