Hot Wheels Elite 1:18 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso Owned by Eric Clapton
The 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, which made its debut at the 1962 Paris Salon, was the final model in the 250 GT series in pure road-car form and continued in production until the latter part of 1964. It was the direct replacement for the previous Berlinetta. The body styling from Pininfarina won immediate praise and featured a front-end design with a wide and low egg crate grille similar to the 250 GT ‘SWB’ Berlinetta. The chassis construction was similar to that of the concurrent 250 GT Passo Corto ‘SWB’ berlinettas: two large, oval section longitudinal members with cross bracing, but with the engine mounted further forward in the frame to increase cabin space. Like their stable mates, they were available as right- or left-hand drive.
The 250 GT Berlinetta owned by guitar legend Eric Clapton, in its luxury version, is one of a limited run of 350 models produced by Ferrari. Thanks to its elegance and uniqueness, in 2004 Sports Car International placed this car tenth on a list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s. The 1:18th scale model will reward even the most judicious collector with its extraordinary accuracy and elegance!
