Hasegawa 1:48 Focke-Wulf FW190F-8 with BT700 Bomben Torpedo Limited Edition

Strafe seafaring targets with precise piloting

Along with the Messerschmitt Bf 109, the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe's air defense during WWII. The "F-8" variant was modified especially for extended periods of low-altitude flying. Another upgrade, the FuG 16 ZS radio unit, allowed pilots to communicate with combat units stationed on the ground. Later "F-8" models (including the F-8/U2) were often outfitted with the TSA 2 A weapons sighting system and a 1,543-pound (700 kg) BT 700 torpedo bomb to destroy Allied ships. This limited edition kit features a newly tooled BT 700 bomb, EZ42 gun sight and TSA weapons sighting system, as well as resin parts, new photo-etched parts for the torpedo fin and under-wing panel parts. Kit includes one marking option: Luftwaffe 2./SG4 Red-10, Italy, 1944.

The Fw 190 F-8 had twin 20 mm MG 151/20 cannons mounted in the wing roots, and twin 13 mm MG 131 machine guns fitted above the engine.
Historians estimate that at least 3,400 F-8s were produced, with hundreds more built in the final months of WWII.
The Fw 190 F-8 was a favored way to test anti-tank weapons like R4M rockets and the WGr.28 280 mm air-to-ground missile.
