The He 177 was the only Luftwaffe four-engined bomber and came into service in 1942. Powered by Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines coupled together driving a single propeller on a joint shaft, overheating continually caused flame-outs and quickly earned the He 177 the nickname "German Fire Brand". Later the He 177 would be used primarily as a platform for primitive air launched “cruise missiles”, such as the Henschel HS 293A. To reinforce the defence weaponry of the He 177 the A-6 series was to have a quadruple gun mount in the tail turret. Despite all its problems, the He 177 was a very popular aircraft with its crews. Model details:

• 3 HS 293A glide bombs
• Exhaust system with flame damper
• Detailed surface structures, cockpit, instrument panels and seats
• Cockpit floor pan with MG 151, MG 131 and access hatch
