The P-51, one of the most powerful and famous American World War II fighters, was originally developed in 1940 to meet British requirements. A Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and the introduction of auxiliary “drop tanks” subsequently enabled it to escort long-range B-17 bombers at high altitude all the way to Germany and back. For low-level attack it was also equipped with "Bazooka" rocket pods. Model features:
• Flush metal joints, super detailed surfaces, cockpit and instrument panel
• Movable propeller
• Detailed landing gear and two different exhaust pipes
• Auxiliary tanks
• Two "Bazooka" rocket pods
• Detailed decals for a USAAF and an RAF version
