Horizon RC Firebird Commander II Horizon RC Firebird Commander II

The new Firebird Commander is a complete ready to fly set that comes with the very latest technology. Revolutionary Anti-Crash Technology (A.C.T.) is unique to Hobby Zone and no other technology on the market offers what A.C.T. does.

With two sensors on the fuselage, one on top and one on the bottom, monitor the position of the ground, and the sky while the plane is flying level, however, if the attitude of the plane gets into a steep dive the sensor will detect this and react to the danger by cutting the motor temporarily, and then correcting the severe angle and pitch of the plane, pulling it out of the dive and so prevent the plane from crashing.

The A.C.T. function is also selectable so that more experienced pilots can turn it off. In addition to A.T.C., the Commander has a soft rubber nose and flexi steel landing gear, just in case of a bumpy landing - X-Port technology allows pilots to use the exciting range of plug in accessories, such as the Sonic Combat Module, Aerial Drop Module (to drop bombs and parachutes) or the Night Flight Module that illuminates the model to allow for night flying.

brilliant by andyman (Posted on 09/12/2011)

excellent first plane to start flying, dont fly it full throttle to begin with or you will keep crashing it, get it high enough so if it all goes wrong let go of all controls and the sensors magically level it off for you, you can then regain control and fly. then when you can master the slow flight and plane control, then increase the speed.......be patient and take time to learn...then it will be great fun and last ages.

Not so Good by Gagnkate (Posted on 27/06/2011)

Broke wing on first flight. snapped replacement 2 mins into second flight. Carried into a nearby tree on third flight ( even though being careful!) and broke tailplane. Balance the cost of repair with mins in air and probably be cheaper to rent a Jumbo Jet!!!!

This aircraft needs an extremely large flying area and its verry hard to fly we had to buy a replacement wing for it and the battery cover snapped easily

The Firebird Commander II is a... by Aidan Thompson (Posted on 30/04/2008)

The Firebird Commander II is a great plane, I have only had it for 4 days now and already can fly brilliantly! The speed can change due to your battery power, although you can still fly high with a small amount of power! I have 'Crash Landed about 5 times, into trees and woods, paths and grass, puddles and other random things but it still works fantasticly and hasn't damaged!
